TRIBUTE TO EZINNE C. U. CHIME (memory of crossing her path.)

Reflections on the serendipitous moments since my family crossed path with Ezinne C. U. Chime sticks a very vital attribute of hers in our memory – WOMAN OF PEACE.

One may have crossed paths with so many persons in this journey of life, but it is possible that only very few would likely leave you with profound memories. Ezinne, herself, was peace personified. When you beheld her, you would see peace radiating all over her; when she spoke, you would hear the sound of peace moving towards you. Even as you touched her, you would feel some sort of positive energy propelled by the force of peace.
As we were meditating on this tribute the words in the book of Philippians 4:6-7 came to mind – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation with Thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. This passage gave an insight to the very outstanding virtue of Ezinne – a woman of peace and a mother who loved God and humanity. Ezinne, we know, had her biological children but she was also an adopted mother to many; some whom she may not even know their names. Anytime she comes to Abuja and worshipped in All Saints Church, wuse, after the benediction her aura of peace and positive energy would always draw a lot of the congregation to her for hugs and pleasantries – what a wonderful soul.

The news of her transition was indeed very sad. We had wished that God would have allowed her some more years. Alas, the Lord spoke and the peaceful transition came to pass.

Ezinne slept in peace – Psalm 4: 8 – “In peace I will lie down and sleep for you alone Lord, makes me dwell in safety. Good night Ezinne.
